Paul is a retired advertising executive who teaches part-time at The University of Rochester and is a church volunteer at the West Bloomfield UCC. Paul has spent 15 years of the board of Thompson Hospital and 13 years on the Bloomfield School Board. He married his high school sweetheart and has five daughters and 16 grandkids. He loves golf, reading, writing, and history. Paul is a social justice advocate. He started Big World, a rural summertime experience for Rochester city youth. His passion is solving problems.
Erin Kuhn – Rochester, NY
Erin is a recent St. Lawrence University graduate where she double majored in Psychology and Political Science with a minor in Gender & Sexuality Studies. Erin just recently finished up serving a year as an AmeriCorps VISTA at a non-profit law firm in Rochester, NY. She currently works for the same organization assisting with grant writing and capacity building projects. Erin loves partaking in community projects, gardening, reading, and hiking
Joshua Murphy – Rochester, NY
Joshua was a student at Lagom Landing in our inaugural pilot year (2012-2013). A recent graduate of SUNY Geneseo, Joshua participated in the LEAP Now program before coming to Lagom Landing. His passion is creating alternative education opportunities for young people and he is a founding member of DISCOVER: Self Directed Teen Learning. He has recently moved to Rochester where he is enjoying city living and is working full-time as an Employment Specialist with the ARC of Monroe’s Job Path Program.
Laurel Nelson – Full time, live-in staff at Lagom Landing.
Laurel loves to cook and garden, so she supervises the gardening, landscaping, and meal preparation at Lagom Landing, as well as helps lead the reflective side of the program. Laurel grew up in Colorado, and loves hiking and training for triathlons in our beautiful Finger Lakes region. Laurel was ordained as a Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) minister in 2003, and continues to serve churches and committees within the Presbytery of Genesee Valley.
Gretchen Roth – Geneseo, NY
Gretchen is a classroom assistant at Geneseo Central School and has a passion for young people. She also serves as Christian Educator at Geneseo Central Presbyterian Church in Geneseo. Her extensive experience with youth and young adults, past experience as a professional cook, and her ability to discover and develop gifts in people makes her an asset to the Board.
Cindy is a retired English teacher who was an educator for 34 years. She is a member of the Geneseo Central Education Fund board and is a runner, walker, and avid reader. She and her husband, Jim Memmott, live in Geneseo, NY.
Mary Ann is employed at Arc of Livingston-Wyoming as a Job Developer. She has previous not for profit experience within Livingston county as well as prior career counseling and Human Resource experiences. Mary Ann loves helping others succeed and has experience as a life coach. She assists her husband, Bob, in running Hemlock Hills Alpaca Farm, is involved with the Hemlock Community Center, and has three grown daughters.
