Rock Castor – Full time, live-in staff at Lagom Landing
Rock has been building since he was 18, when he learned his trade while serving in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea. He has run his own construction business in Western New York for over 30 years. Rock supervises all the building projects, as well as helps lead the reflective side of the program. Rock also loves to ski and play tennis and ping-pong, and in general serves as the “fun committee” at Lagom Landing.
Laurel Nelson – Full time, live-in staff at Lagom Landing
Laurel loves to cook and garden, so she supervises the gardening, landscaping, and meal preparation at Lagom Landing, as well as helps lead the reflective side of the program. Laurel grew up in Colorado, and loves hiking and training for triathlons in our beautiful Finger Lakes region. Laurel was ordained as a Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) minister in 2003, and continues to serve churches and committees within the Presbytery of Genesee Valley.
Terri Burkett – Part time, Administrative Assistant
Terri’s background is in printing and publicity and her passion is increasing opportunities for underprivileged youth, especially urban young people. In her role at Lagom Landing she wears many hats including marketing, website maintenance, student recruitment, and bookkeeping. In her free time, she enjoys the outdoors, bread baking, reading, and learning new sustainable skills.
