The Season of Advent officially starts December 3. Advent’s focus on simple preparation and waiting can be a gift in the midst of a draining season of unchecked capitalism. Let’s gather around the fire’s warmth and light for inspiration in dark times. This retreat is for those who want to build some intentional grounding to resist the exhausting narrative around The Holidays. We will build Advent calendars carving out space for our bodies, hearts, and minds to thrive in the Holiday Mayhem, eat food that nourishes us, and build community support exploring readings from Alfred Delp, Henri Nouwen, Kathleen Norris and Lydia Wylie-Kellerman. For those who like to move, we’ll have woodworking projects, baking, and handmade simple decorations as options.
$100/person, plus the cost of accommodations. Commuters welcome as well!
Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday breakfast are included, along with all program instruction and materials.
