The Season of Advent officially starts December 1 this year. Advent’s focus on simple preparation and waiting can be a gift in the midst of a draining season of unchecked capitalism. This retreat is for those who want to build some intentional grounding to resist being swept into the exhausting narrative surrounding The Holidays. We will converse around the fire, craft an altar for daily mindfulness, create beauty out of what we gather from nature, eat food that nourishes us, and build community support exploring readings from Alfred Delp, Henri Nouwen, Kathleen Norris and Lydia Wylie-Kellerman. For those who like to move, we’ll have woodworking projects, baking, and handmade simple decorations as options.
$100/person includes all meals and programs. The cost of accommodations is extra. Commuters welcome as well!
Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch, dinner and Sunday breakfast are included, along with all program instruction and materials.
